Question by : How much would a 1786 silver coin be worth?
It's in pretty good condition. I found it in my Grandma's box of random stuff. It has a woman on the front.. It's silver. Can someone tell me the value and what coin it is?

A picture would help us help you.

Taking it to a coin shop would get a quick value for you.

There are probably hundreds of types of silver coins dated 1786 issued by close to 100 different states, in sizes ranging from smaller than dime sized up to bigger than a US silver dollar. It would be impossible to identify given your hopelessly vague description.
Here is what you need to provide: Diameter, preferably in millimeters. Weight, in grams (tenths of a gram would be better). All of the text on the coin, even if it doesn’t appear to be in English (the text on most coins of that era was in Latin). A photo would be best. Only then will you get a meaningful response.
